“This has got to be one of the most valuable learning experiences I have had, and your enthusiasm for the topic gave me (as I’m sure it did for everyone) a renewed sense of enthusiasm for writing” (Writing Skills workshop participant).
I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves clearly and competently, whatever they are writing, whatever their level of experience and education. As the Royal Literary Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, I worked with individual students at all levels of their higher academic career to improve skills and confidence,
"Excellent support with a friendly and welcoming attitude".
"The sessions help me to put it all into perspective and maintain a positive attitude towards my learning and development"
"Clare helped me to focus on my style, think about how my sentences would be constructed differently, and listened as I offloaded my feelings and views."
As an accredited Associate Fellow of the Writing Project, I currently offer structured support to organisations, auditing written materials and developing writing skills workshops tailored to the specific needs of the organisation.
“Our writing development work is unique because our trainers are professional, published authors … They share a flair for delineating ideas, making connections and analysing language’s tone and presentation, and a capacity for boldness of expression, playfulness and curiosity. These qualities will help you discover your organisation’s best voice”. (Writing Project).
To date, I have developed and delivered workplace workshops focussing on writing speeches, case studies, notes, minutes, reports, funding bids and publicity materials.
“Useful for new and experienced writers”
